personal rebrand

After a grueling 3 year process of applying to jobs post grad, I came to the decision that I would rebrand my portfolio and social media presence every thousand applications (it’s rough out there)

The following is my third rebrand- I am happy to share my original and second rebrand upon request of an employer!

Reinvent my personal brand to appeal to a new set of job applications and potentially up my game in terms of personal brand scope.

Project Goal:

Uses:

print design, social media design, web design, apparel & merchandise design

Programs Used:

Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop

My previous logo was meant to portray that I am fun; that I can 3D model, and that I have a sense of nostalgia to my work. I am still all of those things, but wanted a logo that would translate better to print and also show that I am both practical and imaginative. I am also a trained calligrapher and wanted to incorporate that into my design with hand lettering that I based on the Amador typeface which is used throughout this site but with a human touch- something I feel a lot of design work in the corporate world lacks as of late. I scanned the lettering in, vectorized it and then used my previous logo typeface, bubblegum, and altered it to fit the rest of the type.

The most important thing I use my branding set for is to make a new, updatable resume. I like to make a two pager so that I have the option to send just the first page if a job application requires just that but to also have a second page available if it is allowed- I like my files to be flexible just like I am!

Here is the companion piece to the portfolio- the cover letter! I do write something completely different for each application, but I made a template that is branded and matches everything else!

This is a banner for Twitter and LinkedIn. It is also the base for the resume design! I sometimes play around with different oranges and browns on it.

I designed and later produced these shirts to promote my upcoming rebrand and to send to potential employers. I like to make merch for each portfolio launch to keep job applications fun!

Inspired by band tour T-shirts, these show the locations I applied for jobs in or visited in 2022-2023.
